Information we collect

Photo Hunt may process your chosen display name and avatar, an anonymous player identifier, an age-based access category, age-verification source and timestamp, game invitations and setup choices, readiness status, photo submissions, votes, results, reports, blocks, and early exits. Friends features also process friend codes, incoming and outgoing friend requests, accepted friendships, associated player identifiers, display names, shareable avatars, and timestamps. In versions where purchases are enabled, we also process the purchase-related information described below. If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message.

Age screening

The date of birth entered into Photo Hunt is evaluated on your device and is not saved as a birth-date field, added to your profile, or uploaded. The app stores the resulting access category and, when applicable, a local eligibility recheck date derived from the date entered. For players allowed online, Firebase stores the access category, verification source, and verification timestamp. Platform-provided age ranges may also be used when available.

Friends

Photo Hunt uses Google Firebase to store friend-code records, friend requests, and accepted friendships so players can find one another by friend code, send and receive requests, and maintain friends lists. Relevant profile information, including display names and shareable avatars, is visible to the other players involved in a lookup, request, or friendship. A profile photo stored only on your phone is not uploaded by the friends feature; a default avatar is shared instead. The friends feature does not upload your phone's address book or require access to phone contacts.

Photos and camera access

Camera access is used to take hunt photos, scan QR codes, and complete selfie challenges. Gallery access is optional and is used only when you choose a profile picture. Hunt submissions must be taken in the app and cannot be selected from your gallery.

Location

Photo Hunt does not currently request or collect precise device location.

Purchases

In versions where purchases are enabled, Photo Hunt uses RevenueCat to manage purchases. Photo Hunt, RevenueCat, and Firebase process the app's anonymous player identifier, purchased product identifiers, transaction information, and ownership or unlock status to validate purchases, restore access, and deliver purchased content. Firebase also stores purchase-related entitlement records and limited purchase-event records used to keep unlocks in sync and avoid processing the same event more than once.

Payment processing is handled by the applicable app store. Photo Hunt does not collect full payment-card details. The current Google Play version 5 does not have RevenueCat purchases enabled; development builds use purchase testing. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

How information is used

We use information to operate multiplayer games and friends features, show player identities during a hunt, synchronize submissions and votes, determine results, validate and restore purchases in purchase-enabled versions, deliver purchased content, prevent misuse, clean up games, provide support, and improve reliability.

Service providers and sharing

Photo Hunt uses Google Firebase services, including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage, to operate online play, friends features, and purchase-related records. In versions where purchases are enabled, RevenueCat provides purchase management. The applicable app store processes store payments under its own policies. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect players and the service, or to vendors that process it for us.

Retention

Friend-code records remain while the associated profile exists and are deleted with verified profile deletion. Pending friend requests expire after 90 days, or sooner when accepted, declined, or either associated player completes verified deletion. Friendships remain until removed by either player or either associated player completes verified deletion.

In purchase-enabled versions, Firebase entitlement records and the RevenueCat customer remain while the associated profile exists and are deleted after a verified request. RevenueCat webhook de-duplication records expire after 730 days. If verified deletion occurs sooner, the Firebase user identifier is removed from any event record retained for de-duplication. A later store restore may recreate purchase records from records independently retained by the app store.

Uploads for completed or cancelled games are deleted by server cleanup after 15 minutes. Games abandoned without completion, including their uploads, are deleted after 24 hours.

When a photo or player is reported, a private evidence copy, the report, and related moderation or abuse-prevention records may be retained for up to 24 months from the date of the report. Information may be kept longer only when genuinely required for an active legal matter, a legal obligation, or a valid government request, and only the records required for that matter are held. Those records are deleted when the need ends.

Some game records may be retained for security or troubleshooting only as long as reasonably necessary. A profile image selected on your phone may remain on that phone until you replace it, delete app data, or uninstall the app.

Children and teens

Photo Hunt is not directed to children under 13, and users identified as under 13 cannot create a profile or enter gameplay. Teen players are limited to private invitation-only games. Public matching and Event Edition are available only to adult players.

Your choices

You may deny camera or gallery permission, although features that require them will not work. To request access to or deletion of information, follow the instructions on our Delete Your Data page.
